Maryland Crab Cake Recipe

Maryland Bluefin Crab combined with breadcrumbs, mayonnaise, egg, Worcestershire, mustard, salt, and fresh ground pepper. Pan fried until golden brown, these crab cakes are perfect on their own or with your favorite crab cake sauce.
Ingredients -
 
1 pound Maryland Backfin Crabmeat
1 cup Italian Seasoned Breadcrumbs
1 large Egg, beaten
1/4 cup Mayonnaise
1 teaspoon Worcestershire
1 teaspoon Dry Mustard
1/2 teaspoon Sea Salt
1/4 teaspoon Fresh Ground Black Pepper
Butter, for frying
 
Preparation:
 

1. In medium mixing bowl, blend breadcrumbs, egg, mayonnaise, Worcestershire, dry mustard, salt and pepper.

2. Fold crabmeat in gently.

3. Shape into equal size crab cakes.

4. In a small frying pan, add butter and melt until sizzling.

5. Pan fry cakes about 5 minutes per side.

Cooking Tip

Italian Seasoned Breadcrumbs

Substitute plain breadcrumbs for the italian seasoned breadcrumbs in a pinch. You could also substitute using crumbled saltine or water crackers
